Collection: White Milk Glass Bud Vases

I wouldn’t consider myself a huge or real knowledgeable collector of any one thing, but I do like the impact multiples of something can make. I also sometimes find something I like and purchase multiples of that one thing or brand. So, even though I don’t own a big collection of a certain item, I do have several small collections of things. And I thought it would be neat to feature one of those small collections here and there. I contemplated making this a weekly or bi-weekly series, but I’m honestly not sure how well I would stick to that. So, I’m just going to document the different things I have as I feel like it or have time.

First up: White Milk Glass Bud Vases

I really don’t know when I started loving or buying milk glass pieces, but I do know it’s been since a while back. I decided early on I wasn’t going to spend a lot of money on them, so I looked for pieces primarily at garage sales, flea markets, and thrift stores. I found and was given several other milk glass items that were not bud vases, but I started focusing on collecting the vases since they were somewhat easy to find, small, and definitely inexpensive at the “right” place. I ended up finding the majority of what I have at Goodwill. But that was when I lived in North Louisiana. South Louisiana (or at least Lafayette) has terrible Goodwill locations. Anyway, it’s been a while since I’ve done much thrifting, so I haven’t come across any milk glass vases recently. But I like the little collection I have. They look nice and bright sitting all together on a shelf. And I pull one or two or three out fairly often to display a few stems of flowers or as a decoration.
